Lodge Officers

Group Pic_edited.jpg

The officers of a Masonic Lodge are the leadership team which presides over the brethren and leads them for their term in office.

The Officers of Overland Park Lodge serve one-year terms, but may serve any number of terms in the same position. Typically, the Officers progress through a "line" with the intent of eventually serving as the Worshipful Master.

Worshipful Master

Jon Allee

The Worshipful Master is the "President" of a Masonic Lodge. He is elected by the membership to serve a one-year term of office. "Worshipful" is an Old English word signifying "worthy of respect". Masonically, it is a title of respect for the office of the presiding officer, the Master, who the Brethren believe possessed of sufficient knowledge, wisdom, and integrity to preside over them in a proper manner. We use the word in its ancient sense, not in its modern sense of denoting awe and humility before a Supreme Being.
