160th KANSAS GRAND LODGE

Overland Park, KS Masonic Lodge #436 was well represented at the ceremony Rededication of the Kansas State Capitol Building. Over 500 Kansas Masons were in attendance representing 186 Kansas Masonic Lodges and many other lodges from all over the country. The Cornerstone was first dedicated in 1866 and destroyed a year later in a heavy storm. After the building was completed a renovation and rededication occurred in 1950. Most Worshipful Grand Master Daren Kellerman made note in his speech that this was a historic occasion which could not have been done in either of those years as the Grand Master of AF&AM of Kansas was joined by the Grand Master of Prince Hall Masons of Kansas, Most Worshipful Grand Master Larry Coleman, Jr. in a joint ceremony. He stated we represent the world's oldest fraternity as brothers in unity.
